Trips to nearby national parks, like Palo Verde, Rincón de la Vieja, Barra Honda and Tenorio National Park, among others, are organized daily.

During the early morning 2-hour boat ride, you will visit different canals, watch and learn about the natural history of the wildlife that inhabits this area like the different mangrove species, water birds, monkeys and crocodiles
ZIP LINNING
If you don´t want to take a long ride to experience a canopy tour, there are several of them available close to Tamarindo in the tropical dry forest. They offer pure adventure and exciting experiences at the top of the trees where you will be gliding by cable lines connected to platforms built in the treetops. They also have some suspension bridges between platforms from where you will enjoy the tropical dry forest.
ATV TOURS
This two-hour adventure tour by quad will make you discover paths that you never thought you would ever see. You will enjoy visiting different beautiful beaches that this region offers or you will drive by the tropical dry forest and some hills with the most amazing panoramic views of the North Pacific coasts.
SCUBA DIVING
Your destination is the Catalina Islands; one of the best diving spots in Costa Rica. Divers will encounter warm water, very good visibility and the fantastic diversity of tropical aqua fauna. Open water program and advance open water program courses are available all year round as well as the introduction program for those wishing to dive for the first time without certification.

DAY TOURS
RINCÓN DE LA VIEJA NATIONAL PARK
Hike through the foothills of the nearest active volcano in the province of Guanacaste and admire the secondary activity of this volcano such us fumaroles, mud pots, and bubbling hot water. You can also seek out the wildlife and learn about the tropical dry forest’s transition to rainforest in this area.
PALO VERDE NATIONAL PARK
This tour consists of a boat trip on the Tempisque River at Palo Verde National Park; the most important nesting, reproducing and feeding site for resident and migratory birds in Costa Rica. It focuses on watching and learning about rich ecosystems that provide food and shelter for the different species that inhabit this area such as water birds, crocodiles, iguanas and monkeys.
CANOPY AND HOT SPRINGS
This tour takes you near Rincón de la Vieja National Park. Check out the adventure of the tropical forest in a unique way by gliding through the canopy on sliding cable lines connected to platforms built in the treetops. Enjoy the panoramic view of the tropical forest by horseback riding, then, give yourself the opportunity to experience a volcanic mud bath and enjoy the thermal water of the natural hot springs surrounded by tropical scenery.
GUAITIL AND SAN VINCENTE
These little villages, which are located outside of Santa Cruz and Nicoya, are the only two communities where craftsmen are producing (under the influence of the indigenous people “Chorotega”) pots, vessels, ocarinas and other objects with clay. You can observe the techniques and the production process the craftsmen are using. In San Vicente you can also visit the museum “Ecomuseo de la Artesanía Chorotega”.
ARENAL VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK
During the hiking part of this tour you will enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the tropical rainforest and discover the characteristic wildlife of this type of forest. After that, experience the rich mineral pools of the hot springs surrounded by beautiful gardens. These volcanic waters are famous for their therapeutic properties that are said to help with arthritis, obesity, skin allergies and stress. There is a very nice countryside drive to get to this volcano. If the weather permits, you can admire the volcano in its perfect “post card beauty”.
BARRA HONDA NATIONAL PARK
If you enjoy pure adventure and nature, this would be a great option. In this park there are a lot of underground caves; there is one cave open to the public and it has a large number of stalactite and stalagmite formations. Besides descending into the cave, you will hike in the dry forest and will have the opportunity to see panoramic views of the Tempisque River and Palo Verde National Park.
COROBICÍ RIVER FLOATING
This tour is an easy ride through the Corobici River on a rubber raft where you will have the opportunity to see the typical vegetation of the area as well as interesting wildlife like monkeys, iguanas and wading birds.
MIRAVALLES VOLCANO AND HOT SPRINGS
Discover three impressive waterfalls in the middle of the jungle while you hike for 20 minutes through the beautiful rain forest at the bottom of the active Miravalles Volcano.
Walk by hot springs, bubbling mud pots, fumaroles and feel the steam coming out of the ground. Be rejuvenated by the therapeutic properties of the volcanic mud and sulfurous waters and relax in the thermal mineral hot springs of the volcano.
COLORADO RIVER RAFTING
The adventure starts with a canopy tour over the Colorado River, which features 9 cables for zip lining along with canyon rappelling and rock climbing while you enjoy views of the breathtaking, water-shaped canyon. After this, you will experience the Class II and III rapids and some amazing natural swimming pools that this river offers, as well as lush vegetation and unique wildlife such us herons, iguanas and howler monkeys.
MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST
Monteverde is a small town located on the continental divide at the Tilarán Mountain Range. It is considered one of the major destinations in Costa Rica. It is a place of cloud forest reserves, coffee plantations, cheese factories, canopy tours and hanging bridges. During this tour you will hike and experience the mystical cloud forest with its unique wildlife. After the hike you will visit the butterfly garden and the hummingbird gallery and will learn really interesting facts about these creatures.
TENORIO VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK
Hiking for around 3 ½ hours through a lush rain forest will give you the chance to discover and learn about the main attractions of this national park: the Celeste River and "Los Teñideros" or “Stainers” (which is a turquoise blue coloured lagoon) originated by the discharge of sulfates and other chemical substances, giving this river the name of “Celeste”; The stunning Río Celeste waterfall with its unique bluish colors and the thermal hot springs will definitely make you want to take a dip and relax in a natural setting embedded in the rainforest.
TENORIO RIVER RAFTING
The Tenorio River is an excellent option for white water rafting in Guanacaste. This river offers a great deal of adventure and action with its Class III-IV rapids, twists, turns and drops. During the 2 hours of paddling down this amazing river, you will also pass through smoother sections where you will be able to admire the lush forested riverside inhabited by a wide variety of wildlife.
NICARAGUA (VOLCANIC AND CULTURAL TOUR)
In this tour you will experience one of the oldest colonial and most colorful cities of Central America: Granada which was founded by Spanish conquerors in 1524. It is located south of Managua on the edge of Lake Nicaragua and considered one of the oldest cities in America. Its original architecture will make you feel as if you went back in time. It features a romantic combination of colonial homes with neoclassical baroque churches. Visiting the active Masaya volcano and exploring some of the best handicrafts (pottery, wooden and leather crafts) made by local people at the Masaya market will make this an unforgettable trip.
