ACTIVITIES AND TOURS

Is it safe to swim in the ocean in front of the hotel?
Yes! Tamarindo in general is known as one of the safest beaches in the country, the currents are gentle and the beach is flat with almost no inclination. In addition, the hotel is located at the end of the bay where the waves are the calmest which is why the beach at our end is also ideal for beginner surfers. During low tide, the waves are very small which makes swimming enjoyable for everyone. During high tide, the water level rises and therefore waves become bigger and ideal for surfing or boogie boarding.

Can you surf right in front of the hotel?
Yes! We have a surf instructor on site. Right in front of the hotel is perfect for beginners or intermediate level surfers (depending on the swell). For advanced surfers, the river mouth is a perfect place to surf.

What is the color of the sand?
The sand is light gray.

Do you have a tour desk?
Yes, we do. The concierge will be able to arrange a wide variety of tours and activities to help you make your stay as fun, adventurous or soothing as you wish.

Can you go horseback riding on the beach?
The hotel doesn´t offer, neither recommends, horseback riding on the beach because it is not legal in Tamarindo (even though some people take the risk). We want the beach to remain clean and safe for all our visitors.

What type of clothes should we pack? Are restaurants casual?
You should pack light clothes; the temperature can get very warm. The hotel´s dress code is informal. Casual clothes will be perfect for any restaurant in town.

Can we see wildlife in the area?
You can see wildlife within the hotel premises! The hotel is set beneath native trees and nestled between rich, organically maintained gardens which home and attract a wide variety of wildlife. Birds, howler monkeys, squirrels, gray and green iguanas, geckos, skunks, and raccoons are some of the animals that can be seen almost daily throughout the hotel’s garden. With some luck you can also see nocturnal wildlife such us armadillos, collared anteaters, porcupines and opposums. Biologically natural paths and corridors have been kept connected with the outside vegetation to provide wildlife the possibility to continue traveling around in a safe way in order to find habitat and food inside as well as outside the gardens.
